450 kW Rooftop Solar Installation at Human Services Building
TEN developed and is implementing a 450 kW-dc rooftop solar photovoltaic system at the Adams County Human Services Building. The project was designed to maximize on-site solar generation while aligning with building load requirements and the local electric cooperative’s interconnection standards. The system supports the County’s long-term energy cost reduction and sustainability goals.

Services Performed
Solar PV System Design & Installation
- Designed electrical systems and racking layout for a 450 kW-dc rooftop solar array
- Installed complete system including 900 solar modules, 1,275 racking bays, six inverters, and a data acquisition system
Electrical Interconnection & Utility Coordination
- Managed utility interconnection process, including application submission and system impact analysis
- Coordinated system requirements with the electric cooperative
Structural & Roof Protection Coordination
- Coordinated with the County’s structural engineering team
- Implemented roof protection measures while preserving the existing roof warranty
Commissioning & Performance Verification
- Performed commissioning of all solar and electrical systems
Monitoring & Renewable Energy Credit Management
- Provided five years of data acquisition system monitoring
- Delivered ongoing solar renewable energy credit (SREC) acquisition services

Adams County has worked with TEN to create energy efficiency projects and, most recently, a solar array for the roof of our Human Services Building.
